Dr. Moadel is a Southern California native, he was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he also spent a majority of his academic career. From a very early age Dr. Moadel was an astute student, attending an accelerated Math & Science program at UCLA when he was just thirteen years old. Dr. Moadel graduated as Valedictorian of his high school class, and continued on at UCLA for his undergraduate studies. At UCLA, he received his Bachelor's degree with Summa Cum Laude Honors and department honors in his respective major. At the young age of nineteen, Dr. Moadel was accepted to the UCLA School of Dentistry. He was awarded the Dean's Scholarship and was concurrently accepted into their Master's degree program in Oral Biology. As part of his master's thesis, he conducted his research on the efficacy of self-ligating braces compared to traditional braces. In dental school, Dr. Moadel was ranked at the top, he achieved the highest score on his National Dental Boards among his classmates. After completing his DDS degree, he was accepted to the University of Pacific Orthodontic program in San Francisco. At UOP, he was taught under his program director and orthodontist Dr. Boyd, who was one of the early developers of Invisalign. His training gave Dr. Moadel extensive experience with complicated Invisalign cases. At UOP, his research thesis focused on Phase I early treatment, and studied asymmetrical growth in adolescent orthodontic patients. After he received his certificate and Master's Degree in Orthodontics, Dr. Moadel soon began his career as an orthodontist. He was only twenty-six years old when he graduated from his residency program, making him, at the time, the youngest orthodontist in the country. Today, he continues to work in several offices all around Los Angeles, and takes Continuing Education courses to further his knowledge in the field of orthodontics.
